Worms??

I’ve had a chicken with a crusty butt. Wormed her with wazine but no improvement. Today I noticed others have a crusty feathers too and I saw something in their poop I’ve never seen before. Does this look like worms?

Wazine only treats large round worms ONLY. You should try safeguard. It is broad spectrum.

What are you seeing that you think is a worm? I'm not seeing anything obvious, usually only roundworms or tapeworms are easily visible, I'm not seeing either. I see undigested grains/seeds and some grass or greens. Can you get a fecal float test done? That is the best way to confirm a parasite problem, most of the time they are not visible and evidence is microscopic. Are they acting OK other than the dirty butts? Lots of things can cause dirty behinds or runny droppings, parasites are only one.

I have one that is slow, lethargic and waddling and has white stuff running from her vent. The others are acting fine.

I have an appointment with the vet but the soonest I could get her in is 3 weeks. I’m afraid she’ll die before then

Is the white stuff egg matter, or could it be vent gleet? Vent gleet is a fungal infection.

Does this look like vent gleet? She's a silkie so her skin is black....makes it kinda hard to see clearly. It really doesn't look like egg matter to me. It almost looks like the white part of their poop

Looks like droppings to me. The lethargy and waddling is of more concern. I'm not familiar with silkies specifically, but how old is she, when did she last lay, do you feel any swelling in her abdomen? Will your vet do a fecal for you while you wait for the appointment?

She is 6. She was about 6 months old when she started laying. She hasn’t laid an egg in months but has never been a great layer. I’ll see if they will do a fecal for me. She has lost weight too
