WORRIED about my goat. shaking and odd fluid

This morning found one of my goats was shaking It’s about 30 degrees right now so not cause of cold. All the rest are fine. Then I noticed while she was eating that she had a weird fluid on her near her backside. Also we have been fighting a skin irritation with her that has been getting worse from constant moisture and below freezing temps making it harder to treat. Don’t know it’s related. Shes eating and drinking and getting out and about fine but I am worried. Anyone know what’s going on?

That’s been a problem with us. We had the best farm vet ever a couple years ago but she retired and moved and I can’t find anyone else. We had 2 vets that would also treat pigs and goats but they won’t anymore. Seems like these things happen on Weekends which makes it much harder. We’re looking but want to help her in the meantime

was young. She doesn’t have any signs even if there was a chance. That is kinda what it reminds me of though

That looks like pus. Either an abscess has ruptured in that area or she has pyometra ( uterine infection). If so, she needs antibiotics ASAP. A vet that treats dogs should be able to see your goat and treat appropriately.

Vets around here treats dogs and cats only. We tried. There used to be one that would treat small animals such as potbelly pigs and such but they close that portion of the clinic a few years ago. We got some antibiotics and probiotics and her. Hopefully we’ll see some improvement soon

We treat our own goats too. You might try a 5-7 day course of penicillin.

We tried the tylan 50 recommended by a friend. Says it treats uterine infections So I’m hoping. I may try penicillin if there are no changes
