i have a silkie that lays pretty consistently (every other day) and i've noticed that she has few normal droppings (greyish with white cap) and many strange droppings (watery, with grassy contents). i can actually hear her poop

is this normal? this silkie prefers grass to crumbles/scratch.

i have a second silkie that is not laying right now, and her droppings are normal (greyish with white caps). this silkie eats only crumbles/scratch. she is uninterested in grass (other than her dust baths).

i'm a new silkie owner and would like to know what you veteran chicken owners think. i'm thinking the watery, grass poo is not normal. if so, what can i do for her?

thanks in advance,
amber

here is a picture of the droppings...this is all she poops or huge sort of normal droppings every once in a while. Please tell me someone knows what this is? Or is it normal??

I can't see the pictures very well, but here's a link to the "poo page" that you can check out for some comparisons. Mine free range and just like the cows often have looser darker stools when the spring grass starts coming up good and they gorge on it. As long as she has access to grit and is acting fine otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it, though I'd get a hold of her and check her out really well just to make sure she has good body weight etc.
