What a journey my babes and I have had the past 2 days! I have recently posted a few threads about how to deal with some drakes beating up on one of my girls... an update: I brought her inside today to splash in the tub and get some cuddles (with mealworms of course) and she was all fine but wouldn’t touch any treats and say in the corner with her head against the wall. I put her outside to see how she’d react and she could barely walk she’s got such a bad limp.. I checked the bottoms of her feet and no bumbles, I’m suspecting it’s in her leg and not her foot.. my poor baby acts so sad and lifeless. She’s currently in the coop with the others but she’s isolated so she can watch but not get injured (with food and water).. I am asking for advice on if there is anything more I can do for her other than to give her space to heal and figure out how I’m going to keep my flock safer by making my male to female ratio better.
Thanks a lot!

Yes. .×2 on what sour said.
For now just let her relax in a safe space.
Hopefully some R&R will help her recover.
meanwhile..it sounds like You really need to protect your other girls from the drakes. With her out of commission you now have an even worse ratio. :(
I know.. I’m working on it... the injured girl is smaller than the other girls so she was an easy target to the males.. the other three females hold their ground a little better than this little one.. hopefully I can get it all figured out and my little girl gets better. Thank you

I get attached to any and all of my animals, that is just how I am and I will always be this way. Of course birds get injuries, and I’m sure they generally heal... I was just reaching out to make sure I was doing all that I could possibly do, so thanks

Most of us get attached and don’t consider our ducks livestock just pets. We understand how you feel:hugs
