Worried my Barred Rock might be a rooster

For what it is worth, that male isn't likely a Barred Rock. He's likely a mix of some kind, involving a barred bird and something else.

This is my 3 month old barred rock cockerel

Males and females, cockerels and pullets are easy to distinguish. The males (true bred) carry two barring genes which makes the barring brighter to the eye. The females appear darker, but should still be barred crisply.

The males alone display secondary sex characteristics such as combs and wattles at a pre-puberty stage.
