Worst chicken breed

And my Silkies and Showgirls are great, I love them The thread's about personal experience and my personal experience is I will not choose to own Polish, I've raised and been around enough to be put off them.

I understand! I’ve had breeds that were known to be sweet and were not and vice versa. Even though there are the typical personalities for different breeds, every chicken is different.

That’s funny because that’s exactly what happened with ours. The little girl just started crowing one day poor Caroline never got a boy name, he was just Caroline the rooster until he died, which was probably because of a heart attack, he was very anxious. He was also pretty ugly, as you can see in the picture, his feathers were like that when we got him ( I don’t think the owner cared too much about him)

Agreed. I hate this breed so much I won't even consider them, or any breeds that they were used to create. Chalk it up to childhood trauma!

Even though I've had bad experiences with them, I may give them another chance some day. Hopefully from better stock.

It's uncommon. Thinking it's based on where the bird was sourced, or the parents involved.

That’s good! That makes me feel better because I want a buff silkie soon and I’m going to name it Muffin

i see people saying wyandottes and wellsummers but the wyandottes that i got recently from ideal were friendly and lay good. the wellsummers i got from a breeder that i had in the past were calm and layed the darkest eggs. worst breed for me was black copper marans: sickly and eggs not as dark as people claimed, will never have another. second was krainkoppes:loud flighty and not many eggs. and then ganoi that couldnt handle virginia winters

I guess I got lucky with my breeds! I'm not a fan of the "fancy" breeds because they seem so fragile.

One breed I'd 100% never get? Naked Necks. I know they're supposed to be great in hot climates but they totally freak me out. Gives me the creeps.
