Worst chicken breed

I did get them from the farm store, and my new ones I got from a breeder, so i’m wondering if that is also apart of the aggression?
Hoover (where most farm stores order chicks from) isn't exactly known for quality so it's plausible that you both got unlucky and they had some birds with undesirable temperaments slip through

yeah, there’s a little farm store in my town that orders from murray mucmurray and the chicks there have great temperaments. My friendliest birds come from them

That’s interesting!! I have my first batch of chickens ever from mucmurray right now, and I definitely see temperamental differences. Also one slightly odd thing that I have been wondering if it was due to different hatchery, their eggs are extremely hard to peel when boiled. Every single one of the chicks I got from them, I have never had this issue before. Coincidence or related yall think?

Maybe? That probably gives some certainty about better genetics. I got mine directly from a hatchery, and it has been a very good experience, but I guess it could be hit or miss.

This is absolutely an issue of individual reality vs. breed typical, but my Barred Rock (in my avi pic) is completely bananacrackers. I never thought that a chicken could be neurotic, but here we are. She cannot be calmed down (or hushed, either.) I don’t plan on future flock expansion from the current five, but if I did, I’d think long and hard about another BR. whew

A barred rock was the very first chicken breed I ever owned! I still have her, as she’s just turned 4! She lives with her sister, a RIR, who came from the same batch of chicks I bought.

Lavender Orpingtons weren't great with us, they bullied each other, they weren't great layers and they just weren't a great fit for us
I am not a fan of Lavender Orpingtons, either. We had two hens. One crowed (and, yes, produced eggs). They were not good layers, and just generally not great birds for us.

There's really no breeds I hate, but I guess im not a huge fan of rhode island reds. They are super aggressive towards other chickens for no reason. Leghorns are pretty skittish too but they aren't that bad

Honestly, silkies. There is absolutely nothing in that head of theirs and are so fragile of a breed. I never liked silkies due to how unbelievably stupid they honestly are; silkies can’t save themselves from an ant. No hate to any silkie owners, just making that clear, as the breed isn’t bright.
I haven’t owned any but I’ve been around plenty of my friend’s silkies (one breeds them as well). I much prefer a more spirited serama or cochin bantam to a silkie. Still as loveable and sweet but not dumber than a rock.
Honestly silkies really arent any dumber than other breeds, its just that they can't see anything most of the time, polish are the same way. But I agree they are a more fragile breed in general and need special care
