Worst gift ever?

Well my in-laws do ask me what I want ever year. So for 3 Christmas I told them that I wanted bath towels. I was told that I couldn't have them because that wasn't a gift for me, that was a house gift. I finally had no choice but to buy my own towels. My husband told his parents about the new towels. He was glad that he couldn't see thru them. Well now it is the 4th christmas and guess what I got towels. they gave me 10 bright towels, all they do is run. I can't wash them with anything because they turn everything a new color.

I got a card from my stepmom with a note that said, "Good for a haircut and color." Problem was, I had announced sometime prior that I wasn't coloring my hair anymore, as I preferred to deal with the grays as they came in one at a time than have an anxiety attack about it in another 10 years. When I said thank you for the haircut, but remember I'm not coloring my hair anymore, she said, "Well you should. You look older than your father this way." I never redeemed the gift.

I'm sorry but your mom's response made me lol.

it was my stepmom which is probably why it bugged me. my mom could have gotten away with that and I wouldn't have flinched so badly.

Oh it's horrible either way... but I could see it.

I stopped coloring my hair once I got more than a little bit of gray. The color didn't stay as well anymore and I thought for once in my life I should have healthy hair. It bugs the crud out of my mother that I keep the gray in my hair since she doesn't. She told me, "You looking old makes me look fake."

Oh, yeah... she's a piece of work. I love her, but she does not like aging.
