Worst gift ever?

when i was six my great grandma gave my sister and cousin each a pretty barbie doll...and what did she get me? a ken doll. lol. of course, i feel bad now since she died a few years ago, but i still kinda laugh when i think about it.

not really the worst gift given or received but rudeness on the part of the recipient. I was in short of cash so we shopped the clearance aisles for Christmas for the nieces and nephewes. Got the game the nephew wanted badly, HOWEVER, I was told that in the future could I not get gifts from the clearance aisle because ususally they are worn out or broken.

Made me not want to buy ANYTHING.

A few year later....My DH got a gift from her that was an expensive (dark dusty rose duster) She was so proud of the fact that this was a 100 dollar coat she got on clearance for 10 bucks. (not to mention that she got ALL Christmas presents for the whole extended family there and on clearance, and was PROUD! I bit my tongue but wanted to yell.......IN THE FUTURE DON'T BUY ANYTHING ON THE CLEARANCE AISLE, IT IS USUALLY BROKE OR WORN OUT!!!

Once DH gave me a a pair of hot pink cable knit woolen stretch pants that were supposed to be a one size fits all. Well, they were one size fits nobody. I'm a big woman. There was no way I was gonna wear 'em. He never understood why.

So far we've all talked about the worst gift received... what about the worst gift given?

One year I got hubby an iron for Christmas...

The worst gift I've ever Received was from my favorite lady in the world, my grandma Betty. I was probably 10 yrs old. I opened the box and found a maroon sweatshirt with Canadian geese on it. Clearly a middle aged womans sweater, lol. She told me she saw it at the thriftstore and knew I'd love it because it had birds on it. I have no idea what happened to it, but I never wore it!

once, i gave my cousin a webkinz for christmas...it was four years before he logged it in. we gave him a pretend visa card with $20 on it...never used it. we gave him a soda making kit...three years before he used it. ugh.

One year when I was asked what I wanted I said 1 million dollars in small bills. My step mom gave me a toy million dollar bill that was 1 inch by 2 inches.

LOL! Gosh, the nightgowns are not nearly as bad as I remember! My sister and I hated them and joke about it every once in a while. I think I could easily get cozy in one these days... "Oh, Aunt Betsy..."

I had another aunt that would knit these bootie slippers for us all the time. They were cute, but totally unwearable because they had a big seam right down the middle under the foot. You literally couldn't walk in them! It was too painful.
