Has anyone noticed the trend in movies is to make the characters as stupid/idiotic as possible? Is this supposed to make the audience feel superior or feel better about themselves because they are smarter than the idiots on the screen? (not much of a stretch to be smarter)
anything with Jim Carey (I dread what the new Disney Christmas movie is gonna be like, he wrecked the Grinch, now he's going after A Christmas Carol.)
Adam Sandler movies, too. Come to think of it, most anything by the latest crews from Saturday Night Live sucks pretty badly. (Chris Farley comes to mind, also - all of a sudden after he died people thought he was a comedy genius - I think he was just grossly stupid.)
I have to wonder what audience the latest horrible movies are aimed at. Teens? Jr. High Schoolers? I love a good dumb movie now and then, but that seems to be all that Hollywood is putting out there these days - that or sex/blood/guts movies.
Hmmm... maybe the Hollywood folks should spend more time working on acting and directing and stop spending so much time visiting Hugo Chavez and getting into politics
(oops, did I say that out loud?)
