Would a Brinsea Mini Advance be a good beginners bator????

How do you add water? That is my only concern.

just lift the top off and pour water in, the brief temp change wont affect the eggs

Sorry to be so annoying, but do you have a pic where you can show me where to put the water?

There is a circular reservoir in the very center, separated into halves. You keep water in one half for the first 18 days, and put water into both halves for lockdown.
In this picture, you can barely see a bit of the orange plastic reservoir in the middle of the 'bator.

Here's another shot with a tiny bit more of the reservoir visible.

And a slightly better view of it.

That really helps me.

Love my Brinsea! I have the bigger Octagon model but the principles are the same . Brinsea has a coupon right now for 10% off. I will see if I can track the code down if you need it.
ETA - Here is the coupon code for anyone who needs it: FBME10

I love mine! I got it last year, adore it, but wanted a bigger capacity so I now have ordered the Octogon Advance. (Actually I got the non-digital Octogon late last year after enjoying the mini so much... waste of money because it was so much harder to use than the Mini Advance. I really need the digital readout to feel confident that it is set up right!)

But I don't consider the Mini Advanced a waste, even though I'm upgrading to a larger one. Now when I order 2 dozen eggs and they send extras for insurance (as most people do) I'll have a back up 'bator to put the extras in if they all make it intact!
