When you say project what do you mean what are your goals ambitions what are you aiming for what color are you trying to reach? as of now he looks pretty confused and mixed up I would guess you crossed him with barred rock over dark cornish am I at least warm?

Since we are including Cornish projects as well, here are some projects we have been playing around with. Still a lot of work needed on type, but a start. Both large fowl, the blue laced red we expected.

Well... I am actually just starting. Crele may be a good start on the color but barred is OK he is not crossed by me to a barred rock but sure looks to be he is actually a cross of a show rooster ofgood stock and a dark cornish hen I got from Privett. I have about 6 that look that color from the mating and all 6 are marked the same and they are not a fluke as all the eggs I set came in this color. My plan is to improve on the base colors. I am no expert on this by no means but am learning.

Got ya any idea of what kind of rooster was crossed I mean the show Rooster what type and breed was it?

Big Medicine the more I look at your birds the more I drool Please put me on your list for eggs chicks or what ever and how ever you sell I am interested in both LF blues and Blue laced reds. I have both colors coming in bantam next week.

On the second of my posts the rooster is the one in the photo on the left. It is not the best picture but he is a nice rooster and I am sure the colors come from him because I get no colors like the barred ones on the cockerel when I mated the same hen to a hatchery stock rooster from Privett.

I will try to clarify what I did to get the barring colors. I crossed some hatchery stock and got regular dark cornish chicks but one hen was throwing all white chicks. I then crossed the hatchery hens with a high quality cock. All the offspring were the same colors as the parents but the white chicks dissapeared and I believe are now the barred pattern. That is now what I am going to improve on like maybe get some longer saddle feathers and some lacing bred into them.
