Okay! Update!!!
My brown egg that I added monday is growing well, I can't see a air pocket though. But if I remember right, nurse_turtle had the same thing but it grew later.
I actually have fit 4 eggs… I know crazy right? I think the key to fitting more is how you have your bra. I have a sports bra on and over that a regular cupped bra. It keeps them snug against me and safe from an impact (or how I roll in the night) and I honestly forget they're there half the time.
I wear a size C/D (which MAY be tmi but considering the topic here…) so I'm really not amazingly busted, but the eggs fit 'under' well enough but I wouldn't be able to do it with out the 2 bra thing. It's not uncomfortable. I take them out and wrap them when I shower and surprisingly they retain a lot of heat until i put them back in. Broodies do get off so that my "off the nest" time.
Tonight I'll post a candling picture of the egg I can see into clearly. the eggs I'm incubating are like this...
Dark green/olive. Should have thought before i put it in because i can't see into it at all. But it should be growing and be about where the brown egg is so I'll go by that one.
…i couldn't resist the olive egg….
maybe because I would like to have an olive egger….
Brown egg…. it's growing! Veining and a chick spot. I'm pretty sure i saw it move too… pics tonight!
Green egg 1: I noticed later it had small cracks but nothing that went THROUGH the shell so it should be fine. Behing by like 2 days but the yolk has darkened
Green egg 2: harder to see through but I can tell the hold darkened. like the other green egg i should be abe to see stuff when it's big enough to see though.
I also know the father and mothers of all these eggs. Their father is this gorgeous white Ameraucana and the eggs are all from some really pretty EE's. Except the brown egg layer, she is some weird looking thing… She's got a crest puff thing and she's buff colored with some black. Like a polish mix or something.
Aside from this test, I may fire up the incubator some other time and hatch some of these ladies' fine eggs.
EDIT
I quickly candled just now and the brown egg's chick spot was moving around. I'll take pictures but it's still kind of hard to see, the shell is still dark enough to give me issues. So there won't be amazing pictures of growth until later but I did watch as the black dot moved, darkened and lightened as it came close then moved away. SO there is FOR SURE a growing embryo in that one.
