Would heat light melt the rubber tubs

I use the 250 watt red heat lamp with those tubs. I would NOT clamp it to the side. I hang mind from the ceiling and make sure it's very secure.

I use just a 60 watt light bulb in my brooder lamp, my chicks are kept in the house in the plastic totes from Wal-marts. I use puppy pads or paper towels on the floors of the brooders.

In this thread you can see a pic of my lamp just setting on top of the tote lid that has wire fitted on. As the chicks get older I will decrease the lamp watts to a 40 and then move them out to the garage in a larger brooder with a good heat lamp bulb.
