So, I have been doing research on breeds, we want hens that have a fairly good egg production and ones that have a good temperament. That do well in Oklahoma weather..

So, I have been reading about buff orpingtons, Sussex and Australorps.

I’ve only had Australorps from your list, but we have several other breeds with them. The Australorps have good dispositions and have not picked on any others in the flock, including any of the chicks/teens that were raised by a momma hen. They lay reliably for us. One Australorp (of three) tends to go broody -or tries to, so maybe she’s not quite as reliable a layer, but she was a great momma hen.

I used to keep all those breeds, among others, and they were raised together and get along fine. However, My Orpington used to get bullied a bit by the others, and the Sussex is constantly picking on the Easter Eggers. But all in all, there was no issue beyond the normal pecking-order behavior.
