Would these holes need to be covered for a duck house?

Yes, maybe in frigid temps you might want to put something over but for spring, summer and fall fine just with hardware cloth.

I am also using kids' playhouses for my new duck coops---my question is how do you secure the hardware cloth to the plastic surface? Thank you!

I took my play phone out. it wouldn't stay up anyway if mine jumped or flapped in there Of course, they might have wanted it to call me when I am late getting out there in the morning
