Would this be a suitable brooder? What are your brooder ideas?

I was thinking abut using a toddlers playpen as a brooder, and covering the sides with a sheet, or some towels. Would this be okay? Or would there be too much heat loss?
Any other brooder ideas/plans?

And how is your brooder set up?

This is just a 32"x18" tub we use for kitchen stuff while camping...makes a good brooder for three. The fence around it is to keep my terrible two year old out.

I used a large metal dog crate with a long piece of cloth tied on around the outside to keep drafts down (think like the bumper on a babies crib) and cardboard inside to keep the pine shavings in. I don't have a pic, but it worked.

I use the big metal horse water troughs. Easy to clean and they never wear out.

Hmmm....after seeing a bunch of pictures from the brooder thread, I don't know what I'll do now!
