Would this design work with silkies?

I have one rooster, and one hen. (My other hen recently died) they are both silkies.
I live in north Alabama. It gets hot here and it does rain. They have a very traditional coop right now but it has become infested with flies (!!!!) and I’m moving. So new coop time. Wood ain’t cheap right now but I love my babies. Any tips and would this design work if tweaked?

A little A-frame tractor like that is more intended to be used as a supplement in good weather than as permanent housing. I would be concerned about them being unable to get out of the wet during heavy rain -- especially since silkies being more vulnerable to water than breeds with normal feathers.

A hoop coop would offer more usable space off the ground so that you give them perches or a platform low enough to get up to but out of the wet.

This one is a little rough-looking, but has very clear build photos. They can be prettied up considerably: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/hoop-tractor.69336/
