I have 8 eggs in the incubator, and have been searching for easy duck house solution. I stick built a chicken coop last year and DO NOT want to go through that again.

Regardless of how many hatch, I am only planning to keep 3.

Is this too small?

I plan on letting them free range as adults with access to our creek. As juveniles I will keep them in an approximately 20 x 30 fenced area.

Thanks!

Well what do u mean for small ducks or adults if there babies yes n no for the adults

You could probably fit 3 in there, unless they had to stay inside for any length of time. How are you planning on securing it against predators?

and ventilation is a big issue they need to have fresh air and still be safe from predators.

You could probably drill some holes along the roofline for ventilation, but I'm not sure if it'd be sturdy enough to attach a door and a floor to it.

Edit: Oh, it looks like it might have a floor.

I would check around local farm/feed stores for a large wooden dog house. Then you could cut windows and add hardware cloth for ventilation and add a secure door.

If you or a friend are handy, you could make one from plywood, or even old pallets. Use half inch metal hardware cloth over openings, and remember a determined predator can be strong, and will be very determined. Some predators can squeeze through a one inch opening.
