Would you buy this playhouse?

I wouldn't buy a playhouse for that price. Building them is much more fun. Look around and see what people are trying to get rid of. Craigslist is a great place to start looking.

Buy it. I recently built mine and spent $500 or more on supplies, and I milled almost all of the lumber myself, and spent half the summer on it. This way you can have fun doing the easy stuff, without the hard manual labor of building it.

if i had the cash id buy it, ready built, NEW and delivered not to mention looking really nice. especially as while i know the theory of building sheds ect i have absolutly no talent for the pracical skills needed to do half as good a job as that

If you have the extra cash on hand, it's a good buy. Yes, you could make it for less yourself, but you would need to account for the time to build, your skills...etc.

Here's a thought for you, have you considered putting an automatic timer on the door for your current coop? Much less of an expense.
(although, new coop is what I would want - how much more fun is that!)

I would agree with this. Go to Lowes and price all the materials, and then figure a minimum of $15.00 per hour for labor to build. It could actually turn out to be a pretty good deal.

It's really cute, and the person who built it put a lot into it. It's a lot of work to build something like that, and GOOD quality materials aren't that cheap... $1150 is a reasonable price when those things are considered, but that's a LOT of money for a chicken coop. However, if you have the money available, it certainly looks worth it. I couldn't afford something that expensive, but if I could, I'd probably buy it.

Thanks everyone for all your comments.. I am pretty certain that I will buy it in the next few weeks. With the snow and ice here they could not deliver and set up where I need it.

Probably could drop it off in side yard and my hubby could pull/push it with tractor BUT I do not want to damage it in any way...

I will start a new topic once I get it home and set up. Thanks!

I did, my aunt asked me to build a coop for her this spring. It'll be 12 x 8 with all 16" centers. Shingled, sheated, and without windows -which around here are readily available for free on craigslist - it came out to around $530, I believe. $675 finished. I added a twenty five percent markup for any unforseens. However, this markup would be incredibly higher if done by a full time independent contractor because of the lack of job.
