I voted yes. I have given away some chickens, in particular 2 Jersey Giants. They were not working well in my flock, they were mean as hell and picking feathers. The person that took the knew the story and was ok with it so all is good. The new flock was good for then because they are still at the bottom of the pecking order and they are not picking feathers either so in my mind it was a good move. I am also atm trying to re home a GLW cockerel and a SLW pullet both are 11 weeks old, so if there is anyone in the socal IE area that wants a nice GLW and SLW hit me up

I hope you get lucky.

I made a few local inquiries among trusted poultry keepers to see if anyone one wanted a rooster -- and they are nice, pure-bred roosters in interesting colors. No takers. It's tough. Many people don't want, or can't have, a rooster in their flock and those that do, usually have what they need already. I figure, at best, only 1 in 100 roosters get to be flock masters.

Voted yes, I'm a new keeper but had to sell a hen since it just wasn't settling and I didn't have the room for a segregation pen.

It's getting a bit late in the year for one to go broody now but hopefully in the spring I can hatch out some purchased eggs. I'll have to give away the roos (either cheap or free/donation to charity) and ill sell the hens which should go towards paying for feed.

I got a neighbor that was interested, has a friend with acreage out of town, but hasn't got back to me yet. This boy has beautiful plumage and if I didn't already have a Roo I would keep him. I also have Orps and Rocks. Those are going to be the ones that replenish my flock.
