I have about 40 week old WL that was wounded about a week ago. Not sure all that happened, but she was cut open from under her eye to her beak and she was limping when she walked. I took her out and put her in our "jail" pen and tended to her and she healed nicely. Last night we put her back in the pen she grew up in and the first 10 minutes were fine, then another WL attacked her, but the Roo broke up the fight. She went to roost with no problems and this morning all seemed fine. Went to check on her around 10am and a hen and the Roo were attacking her. I got her out again and she seems fine, just a little scared.
Problem, do you think she'll ever be able to go back?
I have another pen with 11 hens about 10 weeks younger then her, so no problem with size. Her pen and this one is side by side by the way. I have a third pen with 12 mixed EE's that are only 7 weeks old. Do you think she would do okay with the 7 week olds or the other hens? Put her back in her pen and try again?
Please help, as I am not sure what to do. The 'jail' is not meant to be a long term home as it is small and inside. She is still laying eggs despite it all.
Thank you all.

Put her in with the 7 week old yesterday and sat with her until bedtime! They all did great. They were very interested in her and she in them. She gave a small peck or two to a few of them, but not hard, just a "get out of my way squirt" peck! I do so hope this works out, as the isolation pen is not very big and did not want to keep her there long! I was told WL are not "motherly" but she is doing great! Thanks for the help!

You can take out one of her original friends to be with her in jail for awhile, it is better to reintroduce two then one back into the flock. Or if she gets along better with the younger birds, then let her be a baby sitter for them....
