In raising coturnix, no matter what you're raising them for most of us are focusing on egg production for one reason or another.... with this said... I have a antibacterial that you SHOULD stay away from.
My friend is a wonderful researcher and she found this article for me... the antibacterial to stay away from is : furazolidone it WILL drastically lower egg production, egg size, and fertility.

As I find more information I may add it here
Need bigger hens? suppliment them with rooibos tea! Its been prooven to gain weight on hens AND prolong egg production in older hens! It however makes the roos loose weight. http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~db=all~content=a789776775

T-maze test on hatchling males prooven to show that males who complete the test in the fastest time also mature earlier! Kind of a stupid scientific study but it's still interesting as well, but most of us don't feel like vent sexing little hatched coturnix to know who's a roo and who's not
a T-maze is a litteral maze in the shape of a t, one arm of the T is the exit and the other arm of the T is blocked...the roos who got to the exit the fastest were prooven to mate younger: http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~db=all~content=a901628536
