Hi everyone! My name is Gordon and I am in New Jersey. My wife and I have raised up three children and they all gone. Now we found our new life style here - raising up a flock of chicks, and they are my new babies now, to care about..., since July 2021 of the pandemic, I have raised up 30 chicks and 8 ducks, and this experience is very rewarding to me!

Now I have ISA Browns and Buff Orpingtons, they are all laying eggs, and my wife is busying picking eggs everyday...
The most favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens/ducks is that we can keep working during this pandemic time, and very rewarding.

I am a software engineer, still not afford my retiring life yet. I have an electric & engineer degree, however, I found that raising my own flock can well utilize my handyman's skills as well.

Just recently I found that I am one of the luckiest men, living in a such good town that allows me to raise my own flock, while most of other places/States are having lots of un-reasonable rules and regulations that prevent Americans to enjoy this BYC life, so I started to look around to see how other people think for those, that's how I found this website. I am interested in seeing how people can live with that in this beautiful country..., that's why I like to join this community...

I understand some politicians are enjoying to create rules and laws to bind your feet and tire your hands, to show their power. So I am interested in seeing how people can live with that in this beautiful country..., that's why I like to join this community...
Welcome to the community, Gordon! I have a few ISA Brown as well, they are good birds.
