Wow, most excitement I've EVER had in the back seat of a car:

On the way to a dog show and stopped to check directions with the friend I was following. Back before cell phones. My scottie stood on the master lock and THUNK...locked out of running SUV. Took me 45 min. to find a piece of wire and get it fished in thru the sky light and get the doors open. Missed my our ring time at the dog show too.

I'm sure you have other stories about back seats...

Seriously though, you know your getting old when a back seat just
isn't comfortable any more.

My rat terrier locked me out of my van tons of times! I swear I could hear her laughing!

A few years ago I stopped at a farm house to ask for permission to goose hunt. As soon as I got out of my truck an elderly woman came out on the porch and immediately started yelling for me to get off her property. She then follows me back to my truck without once stopping her tirade. As we get to the truck, my JTR jumps up to look out the window, locking the door in the process. I mumble a profanity under my breath and the old lady demands to know what I said. When I told her that the dog had just locked me out of my truck she starts laughing like crazy. I inform her that just as soon as I can walk home and get a spare set of keys I'll be back, and I'm really glad that something got you to smile. She immediately broken into a big grin, appologized for being in such a foul mood and then offers to take me home to get my keys. She had recently lost her huband, was having tax problems, was being beseiged by land developers and just took it out on me. She wound up letting me hunt, and we remained friends until her death. So I guess when people get mad and yell and you don't respond in kind, sometimes good things can happen. I did however start carrying a spare key.

My doxie locked me out of my car once, while the car was running and the remote keyless entry didnt work when the car was running. She was asleep when I got back to the car.

I finally talked her back to the window and as she put her feet on the armrest to reach the window...she unlocked it.

My mom's bichon honks the horn at me whenever I leave her in the car. Like constantly. It makes everyone around laugh while I turn bright red.

I quickly learned to not leave keys in the car if there is a JRT in it, been locked out a couple times.
