Vet wrap is the best stuff. TSC carries a good one and it's wide but can easily be cut in strips if needed that way.

You can actually take a knife and cut the whole roll at once too.

Having 20 years expericence working in an operating room I know my tapes! I wouldn't use micropore, aka paper tape. Vet tape, aka Coban, sticks to itself and not to feathers and would be much better.
