I need some tips! I tried Google but all it comes up with is dinner recipes.

My chicken, approx 8 wks old, survived a coon attack this past Saturday (approx 96 hrs ago) and had his wing ripped off. He's doing great and has been fondly named "Batman the One Winged Wonder" I contacted two different vets who pretty much said "Best of luck with that".
So here's where I stand. He is separated from the flock, has a heat light on, was given electrolytes. Wound is cleansed daily with normal saline (pressured washed it with wound spray the first two days). I pat it dry then apply Neosporin. I have put Iodine on it. He is acting normally. For a few hours a night I let him out with the flock to free range under supervision and they all play nice. He acts like nothing is wrong except he can't fly now.
Here's my issue: I try to wrap two layers of gauze under his remaining wing just to help keep any debris out. He is becoming so active I can't get it on him even with someone holding him! Tonight I even tried to so a "sling" like wrap that went around his neck. It lasted about two minutes.
Any suggestions or tips on how to wrap him? I would greatly appreciate it!

Try using " vet wrap" you can get it a Tractor Supply or a feed store. It sticks to itself. Try holding the chicken on it's back while you work on it. This usually calms them down. Try working in a dark room with someone holding a flash light only on the area you need to see. Birds go quiet in the dark. Good luck with your bird.

I second the Vetrap. Also, if you can keep the roo's head covered, he might settle down. I had to wrap a broken leg by myself and used a chicken hammock and a towel to "immobilize" her. The hammock gave me access without having to support her and the towel kept her calm.
