Solo's first egg came today. A wonky one, but it's a start.

Did you candle it? When I get those super long pullet eggs they usually have 2 yolks

No I didn't, but I'm actually getting my incubator out tomorrow to clean it so I could candle it. Good idea just for curiosity.

Sure wrathsfarm,

It's pretty simple, 760 Lumens LED with the plastic bulb removed, a socket and cord, cardboard from a tp roll, aluminum foil, tape. It's so bright I worried that I'd blind them in egg.

One nice thing is being able to keep the egg air sac end up and shine the light down into it, or any angle really.

Thanks... I like diy stuff but the built in candler on my nr 360 is pretty lacking even with a blocker plate to stop the light wash.

No and the shape is way off also. After thinking on it, I'm wondering if it was not her egg. I checked under her from the front just before she came out and when she came out, the egg WAS in that far back corner under her tail. So I assumed.
I really cant confirm positively, as I was pretty giddy to see her in there and didn't want to disturb her too much. I do have 1 more that hasn't layed yet and 2 that just started. Just thinking out loud here but maybe she went in and come out without laying and I didn't see that egg way back.

I'm stalking her still...

Just an add on...if it was hers I'm guessing it was just a wonky first egg and I'm sure it will darken up.
