Lovely color... I'd like to see that more brown color in mine eventually. Mine are all reddish.

Now hatch some boys and keep 1.... Or 4.

I’ve got 12 BCM, 13 olive egger F1s, and 8 whiting true blue eggs in the incubator. And 10 Easter egger eggs under my broody.

I do agree that I’d like both, maybe I focus on one in my French marans and the other in my English.

To my understanding they're both accepted as far as Standard goes as it's just a variation of bloom.
My thought on that post of @TexasBlues eggs were basically just because I don't have them darker browns, I want them. I love the reddish also but it would be nice to have both.

Edited... Mine do turn more brown as they age/sit. Maybe that plays a factor also just as lighting effects how they look. Mine look more real color under LED than natural sun light.

Same 2 eggs today, under lights it's still a tad lighter than in person but overall closer than natural sunlight.

Chloe's first outing to the run today but hasn't ventured out of the barn into the sun yet with them. She mainly likes to keep them close to her brooder.

Overall I do like your eggs better with the reddish and feel as you keep darkening them they'll get more purple. Unlike the dark browns will just get darker brown.
Also.. to my eyes, yours look darker but that very well could be age and laying cycle.
Irregardless, both are beautiful. Just my opinion on color.

Flash or sunlight really brings out the true color of the eggs. They may not look their darkest, but you get a true look at them.
The Bergs Fairytale garden on FB has some of the finest looking dark and colored eggs. Some are charcoal gray, almost black. I complimented their eggs and said I would love to see a photo in the sunlight. That apparently offended the owner and he gave me a talk about UV and photography lol.
I’ve got 3 or 4 eggs in this group that have a bloom, but most are the smoother glossy finish. I’m hoping the ones with a bloom will make good olive eggers.

Let me just say as a professional photographer for a time, natural light is the *best light there is* bar none. It's what we hunt for.
