Wrath's Marans

Solo is 26 weeks and I'm still waiting for eggs from her. She's really lucky she's so darn pretty....šŸ™‚View attachment 4008418

And this guy is going to need his own area code soon. This is double red band. He is an F2 from Kong x Gloria who is Betty's daughter.
@BlueTheBrahma picked him out early to watch. He towers over the other 2 boys. I've been trying to get all 3 lined up in the same pic to compare sizes but no luck yet.

You have some good looking birds. I always enjoy following along with your program. I always pick up a little more information. I feel like I have learned a lot in the past year or so but there is so much more to learn.

@BlueTheBrahma I knows it's not a great picture to judge from, but how does his front view look?
I don’t think anyone’s actually asked me to rate a Brahma before, so I’d be delighted!

I immediately thought he looked really nice, tidy head and short, strong beak. The comb is a good size, not perfectly neat but it’s very rare to have a perfect triple/pea comb, and it doesn’t count for that much. His face is high scoring, lively round wattles and nice earlobes. Well feathered by the looks of things (I’d need a side view to see his type better). Legs well feathered. He has clear potential, do you plant to breed SOP Brahmas?

Like you say, it’s not a perfect picture. If you send more (as long as @wrathsfarm is okay with it one his thread) I can give a full breakdown of points.

Absolutely.... I'd love to see more pics of him and learn more also.
So it's totally up to @2ndTink if she wants to post them here or in her thread, which I frequent also so either way.

Thank you, sir. Yes, there is a lot to learn still but it's fun learning with/from friends.

I'll try to get some better photos! We aren't really going to focus on breeding them but hubby loves them so I have 4 girls coming in the spring. My thought though, even if they aren't an SOP focus of ours, I still want to keep them proper if that makes sense? I don't need them to be able to win shows but I want them nice enough that someone who knows a little about them will look and see a decent bird without major flaws.

Alright, photos! Sorry they are still not great. He wouldn't hold still, and if he was still then another cockerel would walk between us. Or he'd be coming up dancing around me.

The bottom guy is one of my Swedish Flower Hens, he's a good sized boy and totally dwarfed by the Brahma.
