I accidently deleted one of Joannie's chick pic, so there's only 3 pics.
Joannie's are labeled purple, Betty's are red, and Harmony is the lone white grandbaby (F2) from Angel.

Purple 1 & 4 are boys.

That 1 closeup pic almost looks like the chick is partridge, crazy! Beautiful littles you have there!

I'm not sure what's going on here. Told not to worry about it and it should molt out.
The experts are telling me that Kong being over colored in his chest x Betty being all black should throw correct colored progeny, but I get these 3 girls with no boys. Unless there's more to Betty I don't know her coming from hatchery.
But I've got 9 more Betty eggs under Momma due next weekend and hopefully get some boys.
I believe this is called mottling but I'm no expert. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

For anyone interested, I linked to the SOP Marans thread I frequent. This thread is a wealth of knowledge and everything I've learned so far is from these great members always willing to answer any questions about my Marans. I'm no expert by any means but if any one has any questions here, I can surely try to answer or tag someone that can. I wouldn't be where I am so far without this great thread and all of BYC as a whole and it's outstanding members.

Yes that one. I know a lot can change as chicks grow, I hatched a splash English orp last year, she was all wrong as a chick, yellow legs, yellow break, but everything corrected itself as she grew and now she's lovely! I look forward to seeing your chicks grow and your line change and improve!

These pics here were taken April 29-30, 2021 and my start to Black Copper Marans from Meyers hatchery as day olds.
King, Kong, Joannie, Jett, and Betty. I ordered 1 male, and 4 females (Kong was leg banded) so we ended up with our accidental King. It worked out great tho, as I had another flock of all girls. So 2 flocks it became eventually.
Been quite awhile (4 yrs) since I've seen some of these pics..
