Couple new layers here also checking in.. Back 3 are 'Lil Joannie's' dated left to right and front 2 are from B1 and B2 (Betty) pullets... both first eggs.

Thanks... I'm super giddy I'm showing some progress forward. Kong has dark egg gene.
Betty's not a dark layer so not surprised the 2 in front were just slightly darker, but Lil Joannie I'm ectactic about...

Harmony and 1 more little Betty I'm waiting on yet.

Really curious to see Harmony's egg color, her being from Angel and Joannie's grandbaby. My first (F2) hatched.

I'm waiting to clear out Joannie from the cockerel mishap and going to set more eggs. Only having the 1 pullet left from her after losing the other, and can't afford to wait til Spring.

If I lose Joannie by chance....ugh

I understand 500%!!! If it's not something wanting to eat them, they find new ways to die, they make it into an art form you are right it is best to hatch now!
