Now I want to test Marans eggs under a broody if a broody can hatch in this humidity would be interesting.

I noticed today that my two FBCMaran pullets from Greenfire Farms barely have any leg feathers.

Does that matter really? Does it have anything to do with anything other than SOP?

Nope.... If your not worried about SOP it means nothing. My standpoint is worrying about too much feathering especially in my winter/mud climate or even worse yet, being in the US.. none at all.
Yours are still classified as French descent and if they stay that sparse, breeding to a cock with heavier leg feathering will correct.
Are you noticing any feather picking from their flock mates? Having something new with them weird feathers on their legs and toe is attractive to others that don't have it.

okay cool - I got all my Marans because I LOVE their dark brown eggs.

I was *very* excited to get a Cockerel because now I can just have fun breeding my own Olive Eggers and of course, more Marans! I have 5 now

Well, fair warning that I can possibly help enable you to quanzipple your Marans to astronomical numbers.
