Wrinkled eggs?

I've been getting, not everyday, giant, wrinkled eggs. They are double yolkers that are as big as one of my Peahen's eggs, hard as can be, but wrinkled or ridged. What would the reason for this be, please? Should I worry? I get about one every two days, I'm assuming from the same hen that I think is one of my Wyandottes.

Any thoughts or info?

I get one of those every now and then, too. Sorry, but I don't know the cause. The hens don't seem any the worse for having laid them, though.

Interesting info, Imp, thank you.
I'm guessing it's because they are young birds? A year old in April. They are all healthy, have an 8X8 coop that they lay in, they sleep on top of the attached run

have a fenced "free-range" area of 150X50ft., have no illnesses. Maybe a defective shell gland? Ugh, who knows?

So how do I paint butts to see who is doing this?

I kinda think of the odd eggs as a treat. I don't know details but people puit food coloring in the vent to mark eggs. Or seperate.

We've gotten those too. usually the wrinkles come on the biggest eggs (like yours usually two yolks). I just figured the wrinkles came from the chicken having to push such a huge egg out her patootie. Like a 10 lb baby, takes a while...
