What causes the shells to be wrinkled ? Out of 22 hens I have one a day that is wrinkled but sometimes two.

I would like to know that too I have one that looked craked but it was wrinkled... I would think that it is caused in the area that the shell is added during the laying process. maybe a pert of that organ is over zealous or a part isnt keeping up, but that is my guess!

Depends on how wrinkled. On occasion, one will seem that the pointy end is "folded" a bit, but a wadded up paper bag look can mean the hen has had a bout with infectious bronchitis. Also, molting can cause an egg issue or two, but usually more soft shelled eggs rater than wrinkles.

They do look like a wadded up paper bag and the shells are thinner too
