I appreciate that use use proper grammar and spelling! Not doing so is an insult to the reader. Keep up the good work!

Chapter 17

I literally bounced out of the coop today! It’s our four month birthday! I’m probably the most excited chicken in the world right now!
There have been rumors going around that you get something special on your four month birthday, but nothing special has happened to me yet, and I’ve been up for nearly five minutes!
I walk out to the field to find Onyx and the rest of my friends carrying on like normal. I wonder if anything special has happened to them yet. I hope I didn’t miss all of the fun! Boy, would that stink!
“Hey guys! What’s up?” I ask.
“Nothing, you?” Prim replies.
“Oh,” I answer.
“What’s ‘oh?’” Daisy remarks.
“So nothing happened yet?” I ask, just to be sure.
“No, why?” Onyx says.
“Well, it’s out four month birthday and all…” I say.
“Oh, it is? Cool,” Prim says plainly.
“So you guys aren’t excited? I’m confused,” I say, coking my head to one side. I really am confused.
“No, why?” Daisy says.
“Ok. Well, I guess that’s all,” I cluck.
Why wasn’t anyone excited, but me? Now that I think about it, the hen that told me we’d get a celebration was Flower. Flower! She lied to me to make me look bad! I can’t believe her! Now I look like such a fool because of that hen! Roar.
I’m disappointed and angry at Flower for telling me that, and I guess I let my anger get to me. I paraded into the coop with my chest up and my wings back.
“Flower!” I clucked.
“What do you want?” she snarled.
“You lied to me and made me look bad! Why would you do that?” I yelled.
“Because. I’m big, you’re little. I’m smart and you’re dumb. I’m strong and you’re weak,” she concluded.
Now I was angry.
“You… You are despicable!” I screamed.
By this time, almost the entire coop was gathered around us, watching our battle. They were staring in disbelief that I would even challenge Flower.
“No, I’m just better than you,” she says, gritting her beak.
“Then prove it,” I challenge.
“Then I will!” Flower yelled, almost like it was a battle call.
She lunged forward and swiftly plucked one of my feathers. No, it didn’t hurt very bad, but it sure made me angry. I lunged at her and plucked a couple of hers. I held them in my beak.
“You! You didn’t!” she yelled in anger.
“I did,” I said triumphantly. Well, as triumphant as you can sound with feathers muffling your sound. It came out strange, but it was still understandable.
Flower lowered her head and stared me down. I stared back.
“Clouds, don’t!” I heard Onyx shout from the crowd of chickens.
I didn’t bother to answer, because I jumped into the air and clawed Flower’s back. She tried to fight back, but I was too fast. Oh yeah! That is how it’s done!
“You little! You win this time, but I’ll be back!” she threatened, although it didn’t even sound threatening to me. Not after the amazing thing I did!
Most of the chickens were clucking and cheering, but Flower’s friends, about seven or eight of the hens, were glaring at me and snarling. I didn’t care.
Today might be our four month birthday, but it was also the day that I kicked Flower’s behind! I was pleased with myself. Hopefully now I’ll get more respect around the flock, not just be the funky feathered, large bodied, show bird. I am Cloudy!
I walk over to my friends, not knowing what to expect. Would they be proud of me or would they be mad at me for endangering us?
"Oh my gosh, Cloudy, what in the world were you thinking?" Daisy yells.
"I was sick and tired of Flower pushing us around!" I shout back.
"You could've, yet again, gotten killed!" Prim shrieks.
"Guys, come on! I haven't almost gotten killed!" I yell back.
Now that I think about it, I have almost gotten myself killed. Numerous times.
