Wry neck in adult chickens

It occurs as a neurological symptom which can happen with head injury, vitamin deficiency, and is seen in some serious diseases, such as Mareks and several others. So, it can last days, weeks, or longer depending on what caused it. Most people will use vitamin E 400 IU daily, along with a poultry vitamin that has thiamine, plus a bit of egg daily for selenium which helps the E to be utilized. Thiamine is also in vitamin B complex tablets, nutritional yeast, and many foods.

Chickens with wry neck may need help eating and drinking if they aren’t able to get enough on their own. Some may get around and do okay. If I were treating one with this, I would give it 2 weeks to see if treatment helped, but everyone has to do what they think is best.
