I have a 5-6 week old Silkie chicken. We just got her at an auction and her old owner said that she had wry neck since she first got her. I am curious if there is still hope for her neck straightening out. I have been giving her water with a medicine dropper and have been scattering food on the floor of her cage. Any advice

Give her Polyvisol drops without Iron. You can buy them at Walmart or just about any drug store--they're made for infants, but work perfectly for silkies w/ wry neck. I'd give her a half dropperful 2x a day for 7-10 days and see if you notice any improvement. Sometimes it takes a little longer, but usually the wry neck will cease!

Good luck! Oh, I would also isolate her while she is recovering--often silkies with wry neck can't get to food or water as fast and also risk getting trampled.

Thanks! I created an account on here just for this. I have been looking over the internet for 1 whole day now, and was up until 2am yesterday night.

I have a couple humdred silkies, so have had wry neck--the Polyvisol drops have ALWAYS worked for me...you won't notice a difference for the first few days, but it using it does get better after treating with the Polyvisol.
