Wrytail genetic?

Could be the hen is not related to him and therefore, doesn't carry the gene. The problem is, you won't know that unless you breed her or do genetic testing.
When I say he is a nice rooster it is his color and barring contrast I like. And his parents are bigger and fluffier than what I currently have. Genetic testing sounds expensive.

I probably will breed him and just see (like I need a reason) and keep them seperate and also cross him with one of my own stock for comparison. Nice thing about mistakes with chickens you can eat your screw ups.

All you know is that the one with the trait carries the gene and both his parents did. I once got a wry tail BR from the same flock that my Becca and Amanda came from. Not one of the birds in the flock had a visible wry tail, only that cockerel hatched from eggs from that flock.

Did wrytail show up in later hatching?
