When I say he is a nice rooster it is his color and barring contrast I like. And his parents are bigger and fluffier than what I currently have. Genetic testing sounds expensive.Could be the hen is not related to him and therefore, doesn't carry the gene. The problem is, you won't know that unless you breed her or do genetic testing.
I probably will breed him and just see (like I need a reason) and keep them seperate and also cross him with one of my own stock for comparison. Nice thing about mistakes with chickens you can eat your screw ups.
