I'm looking to add 2-3 Ameraucana or Aruacana, "Easter Egger" pullets to my small, backyard flock. I'm in Southern Maryland, and am willing to drive a reasonable distance.

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your reply. I am hoping, however, to get pullets that are 4-6 months old. I'm not ready to attempt brooding yet!

Thanks, though. If you can think of any sources, please let me know.

Hello Neighbor,
I'm in Charlotte Hall. My chickens are 17 weeks old now. Hope to have some eggs soon. Good luck finding your EE's. There was someone in Calvert who was raising the real rumpless kind. Maybe they will reply to your message.

I have the reals and the EEs but just sold all my pullets. How about a maran pullet?

Hmmmm... I've been tempted by the Marans. Aren't they the breed that lay the dark brown eggs? Maybe I could get one Maran and then two EE's.

Now, question, since I'm still new to this. I've had my other two pullets for 2 weeks now, and they are about 18 weeks old. If I bring in one new pullet will they pick on her? I've heard it's safer to add 2 at a time, but I really only want to end up with 5. Also, are they hardy enough for winters here? I only have a small, A-Frame coop, that I plan to cover with a tarp in the winter. Nothing fancy.

Where are you located?
