WTB a BLUE egg laying hen or two, in New England area

Just so you know, if you decide to hatch true araucana then it is very difficult. There is high chick mortality (at least my experience). Do you have a desire to have the tufted rumpless hen or just the blue egg. True ameraucana also lay blue eggs. I will be downsizing come spring, once I know who's who, ameraucana and araucana.

I would be happy with a couple hens, I am not picky about breed! I just was beginning to feel like maybe I should breed these, as there seems to be demand, but no supply!

Hey, I'm in Springfield and I'd really love to get some Aracaunas too, but only a couple. Would you be willing to let me tackle a couple onto your order if you get some shipped?

Sure, if it comes down to that. Today I followed a sign at my local tack shop to a bargain of 6 new hens, look to be 2 blue andalusians, and 4 easter eggers. Lady said one of them lays a blue tinted egg, but didnt know which one. For a buck a hen, I wasnt going to quibble!

She has 18-20 more birds, all unknown or mixes, mostly EEs, that need homes soon. She has lost interest, and they are living in an ancient and inadequate coop, gaping holes in the sides, no real perches, just rafters, and I didnt see any signs of a water source, but she has a barn nearby, so I assume they are being fed and watered there, with the other animals?

These birds are not laying now, and mixed ages, from months to 3 years. But I imagine given adequate water food and shelter, they will start to lay again. They are quite pretty, and I told her I would net work and try to help her find homes for the rest.

Maybe I have found my blue egger? (I doubt it, but at least I have a few more EE's)

If I end up ordering chicks, I will email you, it may be a while tho!

Any one want to rescue some nice hens and Roos? In mid-southern NH......

I too want to be on board with getting a few blue egg layers - I don't want any more green, love them though I do!

We have a brooder full of green, blue and pink layers. My hubby got carried away with ordering fertile eggs and we had an amazing hatch rate. We already have 23 birds in our barn and really don't have room for another 23 or so. We would gladly part with some of our aracanas so long as they are not for the dinnertable. PM if interested. We are in CT

Araucana is a breed that lay blue eggs, rumpless and tufted(sometimes clean faced and tailed, but can't be shown). The colorful assortment is from EE's. Very pretty and commonly called ameraucana, araucana, americana, aracauna, etc. by many hatcheries and subsequently the people that bought them. A great addition to any backyard flock

The birds we hatched out came from a reputable aracana breeder. All the eggs we hatched were either green or blue but some of the ones I have laying are laying pink eggs. I don't know how to tell what color a bird will lay until they start laying. Maybe there is a wy to tell I just don't know it.

we have 4 that are laying now and those we get pink and blue eggs from. I have 4 more that are due to be laying in the next month and then we have 20+ that are 1 1/2-2 weeks now
