i am in the process of breeding for blue australorps using blue or splash orpingtons into black austras. i purchased orp eggs in jan. the hatch produced "0" blue females, and only 1 female splash orp.
so my breeding pen is quite limited.

anyone out there with any blue eggs?

i have some good black astra eggs to trade if that is an option.

please PM OR e-mail me

thanks for the reply, i have done an indepth research for a week so far. if you live in australia, your in good shape, they have all i can handle. i made a PM yesterday to a gal who raises them, hope she replies.

thanks again for your concern
have a great day

I have some beautiful blue austrolorps but they are only 3 months old. If you haven't gotten what you want by Christmas or first of year let me know. My problem is that only one is hen and three roosters. I have a black hen that should be carrying the gene but not sure I'll breed her.

yep, it always seems to work out that the males will be the dominant number in a hatch, guess its a natural selection to make sure there is plenty of them for insemination.

that was my problem with my blue orpington hatch:(

thank you for your reply, i may call on you, sure appreciate you!
good luck with your blues!
