I got some from ideal that looked just like that. I decided to sell them at a auction cause they just were so far off the type and so flighty and crazy acting and nothing like my silkies. Since that time I have sold all my silkies but I agree with lil peeps about buying them from a hatchery if your satisfied with the type. You could possibly get some that look better than most of them. I have seen a few that got a couple of chicks in a order that were decent.

Here's my lavenders from Ideal:

Vincent resembles an Oegb more than a silkie:

If your willing to work with the color, then find a silkie that at least carries the gene. Thats what I did.

Julie's Silkies :

They have one cockerel left for $30.dont think he's bearded too. Think I'm going to go and have alook.
But do you think thats alot for a one.

Depends on his "typiness". Even if he isn't bearded, if he meets the standard otherwise, it might not be too bad.

Yeah!! Please post pics!! Below is a pic of my lav. cockerel at about 4 months...he is 7 months now and I'll get more pics this afternoon. He isn't breeding yet...I understand that silkies can be slow to sexual maturity. He and his brother (a cuckoo cockerel) are in with a black hen who is laying and I keep popping her eggs into the bator....but no fertility yet. So they are both slow!
