Would like between 5-10 eastern toms with good feather for a project/ photo we are planning on doing and then turn them into farm birds. Would also like a few eastern hens. Eastern turkeys or Rio turkeys would work too.. Any ideas on poultry auctions that could have them?

Welcome to BYC.

If you are primarily interested in a `photo/video' shoot and don't have the time to spend building blinds, you might check the regs in these States to find out if `game bird' hunting `farms' are allowed. And then contact those providers (might be able to herd some birds into the frame).

Otherwise, in most States in the Midwest, you are free to shoot them, with a camera, year round; shoot them with various projectile weapons, in season. Gathering them up for something domestic? Not likely without stiff penalties.

Anyone selling `Wild' Easterns at an auction is either a fool or an agent looking to set up a rube and, if it is just that, and the buyer were to cross a State line to get home with the poults/adults then the offense becomes Federal - Lacey Act beef. Not good for the wallet.

Need to do some homework on the law before going further.
