WTH! HOW CAN THIS BE?

Well, I know nothing about geese, so I don't know if they're too young, but here's a possible scenario I've thought of. Raccoon comes around, finds an egg that a duck laid while out free ranging. Raccoon picks up the egg, and carries it with him and decides to go into the goose pen and check them out. Puts down the egg, while trying to get to the geese, something disturbs him and he leaves, w/o the egg. Does it look like a duck egg? Just a thought.

When my goose and ganders two gosling got around 5 months old my gander [not natural farther to the goslings] Began mating with the female, which my adult goose was 9 months old before he bred her so I was pretty surprised but she was receptive too. Well she didn't begin to lay until she was 8 months old but I have read many times on here that Chinese will lay in the fall and spring so it's not uncommon for this breed. Maybe for this young but not time of year. We use to have more members who had Chinese I miss them.
