At least in theory 4 months old is too young to begin laying for geese. That and the season is all wrong depending on what hemisphere you are located in. Their season typically (in the Northern Hemisphere) is late Winter through early Spring.

Yes that's what I thought too that's why I'm at a loss it was in their enclosed Shelter inside a lot that they sleep in every night was right next to the door this am and I also would have seen it when I put them up for the night...they free range 6 acres during the day

Chinese are known for laying in the fall too. 4 months is pretty young but the egg looks nice and healthy so yippie for you omelets for breakfast. Do you have a pair or do you know yet? you know you have at least one female lol

I hate to assume anything but I would say the ducks. Pretty big eggs to be from anything else I see in the pics.So your saying no one else has access?

Yes it's a pair...was planning on hatching next year, I breed chickens,guinea, turkeys,and ducks in a small controlled scale so all my breeds are separated for a breeding season for a short time then free range the other 3 1/4 of the year but all my babes are spoiled little brats...my DH says "there's nothing normal on this farm" says I can teach a guinea I can teach anything LOL

Absolutely no access for anyone else...ducks are housed in a separate building and can't get in the lot...gate is always shut even when empty to save the grass in there from the chickens
