Wth is this? (Tiny feathers on butchered muscovy)

Yeah, I'd say you were either a week too late or 3 weeks too early. I'd probably skin it myself, or roast it and not eat the skin. I'm pretty finicky about feathers like that.

Speaking of, I've never understood the whole white butcher birds so that the pinfeathers are less visible thing. At least, not for MYSELF. If there are pins, I wanna know!!! I actually like that about my Barred Rocks, if one of my birds has a clean carcass, it's REALLY a clean carcass :D

I think the seller of the white birds might keep dark birds for themselves! I pick the store turkey before I cook it, there are feathers, some of them cut off even with the skin. That is extra difficult to pull out, and I am sure they do it on purpose for a "clean" carcass. Then, they package it in something you can not see through to hide it better! I am sure people do not know how many feathers they eat!

Which is why I rarely ever buy store bird 😆
I actually bought a store bird today...my freezer is getting low and I have a couple months until more are ready.
Anyway, it had 7 hearts in the giblet package. Is that common that they throw in extra organs? I haven't bought chicken in a couple years but I don't remember getting a ton of extra hearts

I'm pretty sure they just toss what they have in there, it may be by weight? I've gotten a mix of hearts, livers, and wee short necks. I bet they (rightly) assume most consumers don't really know the difference, as long as it's "giblets".
They may have even been holding the livers to pack separately, I see tubs of those come and go in our stores. They are very sad looking livers.

Yes, they charge by weight!
