WV MD PA VA Chickenstock TSC Sat. September 25th

To JustTom:

Thanks for the advice. I really wanted to raise Delaware pullets, but I didn't see them listed on the site for the Chickenstock. Will you be there with Delaware pullets for sale?

Unfortunately, no, I only have a few wels and marans in my brooder at the moment that I'm raising as personal replacements. I loaded up on hatching Delaware chicks in preparation for the last swap at Gowers, but it was just too hot for me to go. So, I put 65 fifteen week olds in my freezer shortly thereafter. The one I had for dinner last night was excellent.

I did keep 3 promising Del roosters from that batch, with the intent of keeping one for my breeding program and either eating or selling the other two.

If you're close enough, I guess could still do another hatch of Dels or perhaps get you some hatching eggs if you have an incubator. I'm still doing some further Wels and Marans hatchings so the more the merrier.

We can continue offline if you're interested,
tom

Just an aside that doesn't have anything to do with the sale...

I'm guessing that there are several of you from the area on this thread which is why I'm posting here.

Just in case you've been hibernating, there was a prisoner escape on I-81 and 901 in Spring Mills yesterday and he's still at large.
Nothing like the sound of choppers over your house in the dead of night to get the juices flowing.

No need to panic, but please, keep your doors locked, be aware of strangers and your surroundings, and take it seriously.

Thanks Tom...we've been doing just that. There was a rumor floating last night that the prisoner had been seen on my road. We've been keeping everything locked, and everyone inside except for when needed!

I was wondering what was decided about the t-shirts? Did anyone order them? Wanting to know if I should come prepared to purchase 1! Thanks! Getting super excited to see everyone again!

And to decrease the amount of work I'm doing! I've got lots of pullets!

Erin, you can also add turkens to the list. They are absolutely so cute, I want to keep them all, but alas, I have no more room! I will have to sacrafice a few! He he! I really have a problem!

OMG!!! I WANT a turken!!! PLEASE!!! I've been trying and trying and TRYING to get my hands on one and had pretty much given up! All I need is just ONE...just ONE pullet!!! I will be at the Chickenstock one way or another....and I'd LOVE to take one of those precious little turkens off your hands for you!

Now I'm even MORE super-excited!

I am hoping to be able to attend. This will be my first Chickenstock - how exciting! I'm looking for a bantam hen/pullet to round out my flock, maybe a polish. Will anyone have any Showgirls? I'd really like a Dutch, but I think they are harder to come by.
