WV MD PA VA Chickenstock TSC Sat. September 25th

I probably shouldn't have called them "calico" There are a few byc members working on their own variety of cochin... kind of an offshoot of mille fleur. Some believe this other variety, "calico" aka MF sport, have a special gene called hysterical mottling that basically causes the bird to appear almost completely white with buff/red and black spots.. kind of like a calico cat.

I have a male that is from my mottledxmille outcross and I have a female in which was hatched from shipped eggs so, they are unrelated

I believe I got 2 pairs from you at the last chicken stock. BUT one died and I'm not positive it was a rooster but it might have been.. So that's why I want another one. Could you save me one. I was the Mennonite lady, who came early on. (love my description but I can't think of any other way of helping you to remember. If you're who I think you are, your husband and two children were there and they were two very cute little ones)
I can't even remember how or why it died. We have been so busy that neither of us can. We got 15 pullets form someone else and I can't wait until they lay. Do you remember how old the ones you sold were or did you have too many different ages there to remember what you sold to whom.

I wanted to sell Jersey milk soap the last time but I got too low on my supply for my farmers markets and didn't have enough. I am stockpiling it now as I am trying to get enough to have for Boonsboro days but I can't hardly keep with my market people. So I am planning on selling soap unless I just can't make enough. I would like to stay longer this time. I hope more people come. It was pretty neat

Hey ML, I do remember you. I totally understand about the description. Im "the lady with the Korean husband"

Anyway, I have 4 roos for you to choose from. They are at my father's farm in Sharpsburg, MD. I can bring you one at Chickenstock or you can come and pick up earler... I may even be able to scoop one and you can pick up at my current home in Martinsburg. I will try and get pics of them this week. We are currently moving there so I should be back and fourth.

I would love for you to sell your soap. I thought more folks would be selling farmy crafty items there ?? It'll probably catch on soon

Just got back from the Clarke County fairgrounds. It was load-in day, the Fair starts tomorrow. My new, old chicken crate got to meet some long, lost relatives. LOL
ANCESTORS.jpg

The fairgrounds are located at the west end of town in Berryville, VA. If you live near Gower's Feed in Ranson, WV or that general area, you are not far from this event. If I knew you better, I would say, "you don't want to miss this fair, at least its Poultry & Rabbits". Here's a pic from the poultry building, that I call "A study in Black & White". Birds were Awesome!
BOOKENDS.jpg

I sold one of my crates at the load-in and ran out of business cards. I guess people like the "Nostalgia" carriers, better than my fancy ones. You never can tell what people like? Anyway, can't wait for our ChickenStock in Martinsburg.

Im thinking of getting into white homer releases for weddings and funerals. I would need a fancy outfit and fancy carrier

Hey Carol, it's just a place and time where we all get together and buy and sell our poultry. It's free to sell. ...just pull up, plop your tailgate down and set your cages out with your birds. Customers will approach you and ask you questions and buy.

Here's some pics from this Spring.
